ADJUSTMENTS TO SHIFTED PARTITIONS AND TELEPOSTS IN REGINA HOMES

Foundation pads have steel posts attached under the basement floors. These posts are connected to beams, joists and the flooring above. Foundations of homes can shift and this can lead to drywall cracking and uneven flooring. RSR Construction: Basement & Foundation Repair can adjust teleposts for Regina homeowners to ensure everything is straight and solid.

Signs Your Teleposts Need Adjusting

Common signs your teleposts need adjusting: uneven or sloping main floors, doors and windows that stick, new cracks in the drywall near where the wall meets the ceiling. Adjustments should always be gradual and handled by a professional. Move a post too far too fast and you can crack more than you fix.

Assess

New homes, old homes and all homes in between with a basement in this part of the world will experience foundation shifting of some sort. The severity of the shifting can be affected by many factors, and in Saskatchewan you have many of them working against you.

FAQs for Telepost Adjustments

A telepost is an adjustable steel post installed in your basement to support the beams and joists that hold up the floors above. Think of it as a critical link between your foundation and the rest of your home's structure. When a foundation shifts, teleposts can shift with it. The floors, walls, and doorframes above are usually the first to show the effects.

The most common signs are uneven or sloping floors, doors and windows that stick or won't close properly, and new cracks appearing in the drywall, particularly where the wall meets the ceiling. If any of these sound familiar, it's worth having a professional take a look. The earlier it's caught, the simpler the fix.

It depends on the size of your home, the span of your beams, and the condition of your foundation. Every home is different. RSR will assess your basement during a free on-site estimate and recommend the right number and placement for your specific situation.

Yes. RSR provides a 10-year warranty on workmanship, which covers telepost adjustment work. If you have questions about what's covered, ask us during your estimate. Our team will walk you through it.

We had a telepost collapse in our basement on Saturday night at 10 PM. Although in bed the owner came out to our home to guide us and try to resolve the issue. When couldn't be fixed til Monday looked at all teleposts and reassured us with the wood post and jack we had in place that it would be ok til Monday. Spoke to Manager Adrian on Monday who said the crew would be out today by 4 PM. Received call from crew at 1230 saying they would be here at 2pm arriving at exactly 2 and after attempting to save old telepost wasn't successful cut old one off supporting with other post. Installed new one, adjusted other posts and cleaned up finishing in 90 minutes. Highly impressed. Thanks to owner Terry and his crew for his quick response Saturday night and fixing our issue promptly on Monday.
